Design Wall Monday

I'm making progress on the quilt as you go Donation Quilt, but I don't like the borders at all.

The first end rippled badly so I starched the next two and they were better. But what I really dislike are the green stripes down the sides. I'm trying to decide whether to tear it off or just let it go.

  1. I've never done a quilt as you go. Has it been hard? I really like your blocks! Thanks for linking up.

  2. I think it's beautiful. The stripe ties in with the rest of the squares, so I like it. What makes the ripples you are talking about?

  3. It looks to me that you could take out the green stripe without creating too many additional problems. If it were me I'd try moving the blue border over the green and take a pic or two and see if you like that better. I'd also think about where the quilt is going. Is it going somewhere you'll see it all the time? If so ... you might want to rip. UGH. Good luck making your decision.

  5. I have to say, I don't really mind the stripe....but remember, you have to be happy with it. Thanks for linking up at Bits 'n Bobs for Design Board Monday....I look forward to the next time to see how you went.
ps....just looking at the photo of your cat, Buddy, who looks just like my childhood cat except she has a white chin too.

  6. I like the way the green stripes highlight the green in the pattern. I say keep it!

  7. I think the stripe could be really nice if it was framing the blocks. Is something like that possible with QAYG?

  8. I like the green stripes, they make a nice frame. But if you don't like them, you should change them.
