It was a cold, gray weekend, which turned out to be perfect for getting stuff done around here. After having a standoff with Hubby about insulation, we both compromised and I cut while he hung it, and we got all the walls finished Saturday. Sunday afternoon, I was able to get in a few hours at the cutting table and sewing machine. After arranging and rearranging several times, I was able to finish only three blocks. But it should go faster now that I have a system and more of the star tips tacked under. Now I'm trying to decide if I want a secondary block in the corners or just have floating stars.

Those stars look great! I assume you will hand or machine appliqué in place? I notice you've had a lot of success on UFOs this years. I like that you've listed what you want to work on and finishes both flimsies and totally finished. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes, I am going to machine applique onto blocks.
DeleteI had success with UFOs early in the year, but lost momentum when it started getting warm and other things came first.
These are very nice blocks. I love the stars against the grey.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I like the gray too. The blocks seemed disjointed against white or cream, so I wanted something with a subtle pattern to tone them down. Thank you for visiting!
DeleteThank you for your inspiration you give us on Show and Tell Monday !! Bambi
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThe stars look great! Sounds like you had a good weekend with progress on the build and progress in the sewing room.
ReplyDeleteYes, and thank you for the suggestion of gray. I was thinking a tan or green but the gray, with it's dotted lines, worked best.
