This will be short. Because of this cold spell (the local weatherpeople have dubbed it the once-in-a-lifetime-deep-freeze) we are having rolling blackouts. Our mini-splits have completely given up trying to produce heat and we are moving to the bedroom with a portable heater for now. All the highways are iced over so Hubby is trying to work from home today. If the power goes out for more than 15 minutes, we'll move to the RV with propane. I sure wish we had thought to fill the water tank in it when we put it back in the garage. We haven't had running water since yesterday.
Here's what the Scrappy Pinwheel looks like today.

Yikes. Brrr.. we've had ice storms but the temps are only in low 30s to mid 30s. Tomorrow is an outlier at 55 degrees. Say what? I really like your scrappy pinwheels. It's going to be a really neat quilt. I hope you can stay warm and find some water. I tend to freeze gallon milk jugs in our freezer and if I need them as water they can be defrosted. On the other hand, we've never needed them.
ReplyDeleteBRRR! Hopefully your rolling blackouts and lack of water will not last long. This cold has certainly taken over parts of the country not used to these temps. It was -20 here in SD this morning, but our part of the country is used to this. We don't like it, but we see these temps at some point every winter.
ReplyDeleteOh my. Hope things thaw out sooner than later. Your pinwheels are scrappy fun.
ReplyDeleteHopefully things have gotten any worse on the water and heat front. Scrappy pinwheels is looking good.
