I have two of the four borders on Antique Tiles. The more I see this green around it, even though it is a good match to the green in the center fabric, the less I like it. I think I may cut the borders down to three inches and put a second border of the same yellow plaid that is used on the sashing.

Colors can be so difficult at times. It looks like it will work and then it doesn't. I love your idea about the yellow.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week. ♥
Thanks! I'm going to work on it this evening to see if it works.
DeleteI like the bold color scheme! (We're all about bright colors here in the subtropics of SW Florida)....of course I wouldn't need to wrap up in that lovely quilt very often -- I'd probably hang it on the wall -- or take it back to Oregon where it is often cooler in the summer than it is here in the winter!
ReplyDeleteOregon sounds wonderful! I like our winters in North Texas, mostly mild with the occasional winter day or two.
ReplyDeleteI think your idea of adding another yellow border is a good one. It will brighten things up.
ReplyDeleteMarti: Good idea on adding the border, I love the color yellow.
ReplyDeleteSometimes a quilt just speaks too you and changes your mind, doesn't it? I think the green is too somber, and the yellow will cheer it up and make it what you intended. Hope to see the results next week! And remember, my opinion is worth what you paid for it......a big zero, lol. Thanks for linking up with Design Wall Monday, Judy
